Farallón (fahr-ah-YHON) is often referred to as Playa Blanca, a nickname from one of the several residential resort communities for this popular vacation destination by locals and foreigners alike. However, unlike its´ misnomer suggests, this beach sports silvery-grey volcanic sand. The expansive beaches allow for many activities, such as windsurfing, kayaking, horseback riding and traveling by motorbike along the water. Isla Farallón, an island located 15 minutes from the shore, allows for excellent snorkeling, and its´ white rocks are within view from the coastline.

The junction of the natural waters of the Farallón River with the Pacific salty sea is also a must-visit, and a unique experience of texture, taste and temperature.

The area´s accommodations, including three all-inclusive resorts and an 18-hole golf course along the water, allow for a variety of dining options and activities. A casino, massages and nighttime shows can supplement any beach day. At 75 mi (120 km) from Panama City, a little over 1.5 hours, Farallón is well worth the visit.
