Coronado

With Coronado´s convenient 1-hour proximity to Panama City, this coastal city is home to Panama’s first resort. The ready-made infrastructure is advantageous to tourists and weekenders seeking the modern conveniences of city-life while still enjoying the area´s white and volcanic sand beaches. Continuously expanding for the past decade, Coronado enjoys two full-scale supermarkets carrying a large variety of U.S. brands, a general merchandise superstore (¨El Machetazo¨), numerous restaurants,  fresh produce stands, banks, cell phone stores, veterinary clinics, gardening shops, clothing stores and more: Coronado has now become a city, complete with bilingual “Stop” signs, but still has the intimate small town feel where everyone seems to know everyone.

Rent a jet-ski and 4×4, beach comb, take surf lessons, get a massage, play 18 holes, ride a horse and set sail into the sunset: the area´s activities are endless. With miles of surrounding beach towns and respective beaches, and feasible day trips to El Valle and nighttime hot spots, Coronado is a fantastic location for even the unfortunate short-term getaways.
